Répercussions des Troubles de l'Humeur sur les Comportements des Personnes Agées

Abstract

Cette étude examine l’influence des troubles de l’humeur sur les comportements des personnes âgées, dans un contexte de vieillissement démographique croissant au Maroc. Cinq femmes âgées de 64 à 85 ans, résidentes du Centre social de Hay Nahda à Rabat, ont constitué l’échantillon d’étude. Une approche qualitative a été adoptée, mobilisant l’entretien clinique et l’étude de cas afin d’explorer les liens entre variations affectives et manifestations comportementales. Les résultats révèlent que les troubles de l’humeur — notamment la dépression, la tristesse chronique et la résignation — influencent directement le comportement, entraînant repli sur soi, irritabilité, apathie et perte d’initiative. Ces altérations trouvent leur origine dans la solitude, la perte de rôle social et la dégradation du soutien familial. La discussion souligne la nécessité d’une prise en charge psychologique centrée sur la personne et d’un accompagnement institutionnel favorisant l’écoute, la valorisation et le maintien du lien social. En conclusion, les troubles de l’humeur chez les aînés traduisent une souffrance psychique liée à la quête de sens et à la perte de reconnaissance, appelant à une approche humaniste et intégrée de la santé mentale du vieillissement.
