Abstract

The following review addresses a national study, in Spain, on the situation of occupational therapy in the educational environment. There is a difference between the autonomous communities; in some, the public educational system includes occupational therapists, while in others they only work in private schools or pediatric clinics, which rarely contact schools. It is emphasized that it is important to unify legislation to address student needs, increasing resources and improving coordination between professionals to achieve inclusive education for all children within the education system. Another highlight is the need to specify and make others aware of the functions of occupational therapists in the educational field
