This report summarises existing identification, selection and appraisal practices for long-term digital data object preservation, across different domains, and identifies issues that potentially affect how preservation and the findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability of digital data objects may change over time. The primary means of engaging with the wider digital preservation community on an inquiry into these practices - and the use of reference documents such as frameworks, guidelines andstandards that guide preservation practice - was the delivery and analysis of a research survey. As such, this deliverable focuses mainly on the survey activity, the analysis of data received, and the implications of this research within and beyond EDEN WP1 activity.
This deliverable is submitted to the EC and not yet approved.
