This dataset contains questionnaire files collected during five institutional site visits conducted in five different countries. The materials document how research-performing organizations assess researchers’ activities and careers, including governance frameworks, evaluation criteria, feedback mechanisms, use of digital and automated tools, consideration of bibliometric indicators, Open Science practices, and links between assessment outcomes and career progression. The questionnaires combine basic institutional context with structured qualitative information on formal research assessment systems, their alignment with institutional strategies and national or European regulations, and their evolution over time. The dataset supports comparative analysis of research evaluation practices across countries and institutions and contributes to studies on research assessment reform, responsible metrics, and science policy.
