Control de pH y su impacto en la cinética de lixiviación de minerales de cobre: una revisión sistemática de la literatura

Abstract

Esta Revisión Sistemática de la Literatura (RSL) analiza el papel del potencial de hidrógeno (pH) como variable crítica en la cinética de extracción de cobre. A través de un análisis basado en la metodología PRISMA de fuentes indexadas (Scopus, WoS, ScienceDirect), se establece que el pH no actúa aisladamente, sino que orquesta interacciones termodinámicas complejas. Los resultados indican que, en minerales oxidados, la acidez controla la disolución, pero su exceso causa problemas operativos como la gelificación de sílice. En sulfuros (calcopirita, calcocina), el pH modula el potencial redox y la solubilidad del oxidante férrico; un pH inadecuado puede inhibir la biolixiviación o causar pasivación por jarositas. Finalmente, se discute la lixiviación alcalina (glicina-amoniaco) como alternativa emergente para minerales con ganga carbonatada.
