Abstract

O Atendimento Educacional Especializado (AEE) constitui um serviço fundamental para a efetivação da educação inclusiva, ao atuar de forma complementar ou suplementar à escolarização na sala comum. Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar o papel do AEE no desenvolvimento integral do estudante, problematizando o distanciamento existente entre o diagnóstico clínico e a prática pedagógica no contexto escolar. A partir de uma abordagem teórica e documental, discute-se o laudo como ponto de partida, e não como limite do processo educativo, destacando a função pedagógica do AEE na identificação de barreiras à aprendizagem e à participação. O estudo aborda, ainda, o planejamento pedagógico intencional, flexível e individualizado, a articulação entre AEE, sala comum e família, bem como as contribuições do atendimento especializado para o desenvolvimento cognitivo, social, comunicativo e funcional. Também são analisadas as práticas pedagógicas mediadas, a avaliação contínua e formativa e os desafios enfrentados pelo AEE na efetivação da inclusão escolar. Conclui-se que o AEE, quando fundamentado em princípios pedagógicos e articulado ao projeto político-pedagógico da escola, contribui significativamente para a promoção da aprendizagem, da participação e da equidade educacional.

Specialized Educational Support (SES) is a fundamental service for the implementation of inclusive education, acting in a complementary or supplementary manner to regular classroom schooling. This article aims to analyze the role of SES in the student’s integral development, discussing the gap between clinical diagnosis and pedagogical practice within the school context. Based on a theoretical and documentary approach, the study addresses the clinical report as a starting point rather than a limitation of the educational process, highlighting the pedagogical function of SES in identifying barriers to learning and participation. The discussion also includes intentional, flexible and individualized pedagogical planning, the articulation between SES, regular classroom and family, as well as the contributions of specialized support to cognitive, social, communicative and functional development. In addition, mediated pedagogical practices, continuous and formative assessment, and the challenges faced by SES in the effective implementation of school inclusion are examined. The study concludes that SES, when grounded in pedagogical principles and articulated with the school’s pedagogical project, significantly contributes to learning, participation and educational equity.
