Abstract

This is the November 2011 issue of the International Commission on Physics Education (ICPE) newsletter. It introduces the newly elected ICPE Chair, Robert Lambourne, and outlines plans for upcoming conferences, including the 2012 World Conference on Physics Education in Istanbul and future events in the Czech Republic and South America. The issue highlights initiatives such as PHYSWARE workshops for capacity building and a proposed International Year of Light in 2015. It features an article on the ASELL project for improving laboratory learning, valedictories for retiring commissioners, and a retrospective celebrating ICPE’s 50+ years of fostering global collaboration in physics education.
