CANTAR Y BAILAR PARA EXISTIR: PRÁCTICAS MUSICALES AFROCOLOMBIANAS COMO FORMAS DE RESISTENCIA Y RE-EXISTENCIA

Abstract

El presente artículo de reflexión problematiza el concepto del mestizaje en el contexto latinoamericano, particularmente en Colombia, como una estrategia política y cultural que ha contribuido a invisibilizar las expresiones afrodescendientes bajo la idea de una identidad nacional homogénea y blanqueada. A partir de los planteamientos de autoras como Ochy Curiel, Catherine Walsh, Aurora Vergara-Figueroa y Leda Martins, se analiza la música, la danza y el cuerpo afrodescendiente como territorios de resistencia, memoria y sanación. Se explora cómo las manifestaciones culturales del Pacífico colombiano —como el currulao, el abozao o el violín caucano— encarnan prácticas de re-existencia que desafían las narrativas coloniales y reivindican los saberes ancestrales. El artículo concluye que la cultura afrocolombiana no puede reducirse a lo folclórico, sino que constituye una forma de conocimiento y creación de futuro que confronta el silenciamiento histórico del mestizaje.
