Household Hazardous Waste Characterization and Recycling Behavior

Abstract

The Da WeZard project (Da: Data | We: Citizen, collaborative | Zard: Hazardous waste) is a Citizen Science project that aims to characterise and quantify hazardous household waste in Portugal. The project was condcted in the Municipality of Leiria with the active participation of Scouts from the Leiria-Fátima Region. The dataset has 158 inquiries, registered by Scout living at Leiria region, Portugal. The information concerning characterization protocol and questions are in other files at Zenodo, DaWeZard project. The dataset is referent to characterization occurred in October-November 2025 and has the amount of HHW generated by 8 types, their destination and destination of the container, as well the recycling behavior of participants conceringthose wastes.
