Abstract

Les changements dans la sphère familiale liés à l’autonomisation des femmes nous donnent de repenser leur rôle dans la prise de décision d’achat familial. Ce rôle, naguère expressif selon les travaux de Parsons et Bales (1955), devient de plus en plus égalitaire. Cette évolution du rôle de la femme dans la prise de décision d’achat familial est soutenue par un certain nombre de facteurs dont le niveau d’instruction. Ainsi, cet article, à travers un cadre théorique basé sur les théories des ressources et de l’échange social, explore comment l’instruction de la femme modifie les dynamiques intrafamiliales liés au processus décisionnel d’achat au sein du couple familial. Basée sur étude comparative transversale et ayant vu la participation de 208 couples des milieux urbains du district d’Abidjan, l’étude a permis de comparer le pouvoir de la femme non instruite vs instruite dans l’achat familial. Les résultats obtenus permettent de dire que le niveau d’instruction de la femme affecte positivement son pouvoir de décision d’achat familial au niveau des étapes de reconnaissance du besoin et de décision finale.
