Abstract

This article examines the importance of integrating the four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—in a holistic ESL lesson. It explores how skill integration supports meaningful communication, reinforces language structures, and promotes balanced proficiency. The article highlights strategies such as task-based learning, collaborative activities, and multimodal input to create cohesive lessons that mirror real-life language use. It also discusses the teacher’s role in designing interconnected tasks, providing scaffolding, and facilitating active learner participation. The study emphasizes that holistic skill integration enhances fluency, accuracy, motivation, and overall communicative competence in diverse classroom contexts.
