This report analyses how European Higher Education Institutions implement and support Erasmus+ traineeships before, during and after mobility. Based on a 2025 survey of 137 HEI staff responses across 39 countries and six focus groups, it maps existing support measures, challenges and perceived benefits for students and HEIs. It notes uneven institutional support, financial and integration barriers, underuse of ErasmusIntern.org, and calls for stronger guidance, partnerships and digital tools to improve traineeship quality and access.
