El estrés y su efecto en el desempeño laboral de docentes de enfermería de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza el impacto del estrés laboral en el desempeño de los docentes de la carrera de Enfermería en la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo durante el periodo abril-agosto 2024. A través de un enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal, se aplicó una encuesta basada en la Escala de Estrés Percibido a una muestra de 34 docentes. Los resultados indican que el 74% presenta un nivel de estrés moderado, mientras que el 26% reporta un nivel bajo, sin evidencia de estrés alto. Se identificaron factores como la alta carga laboral, expectativas institucionales, supervisión clínica y escasez de recursos como principales generadores de estrés. Se propone la implementación de estrategias institucionales de apoyo para el manejo del estrés, tales como programas de bienestar, capacitaciones y flexibilización de horarios. El estudio concluye que, aunque los niveles de estrés no son extremos, su presencia sostenida puede afectar el bienestar y la calidad educativa, haciendo necesario un abordaje preventivo.
