Abstract

La ville de Kinshasa connaît, depuis plusieurs décennies, une aggravation des problèmes liés au drainage des eaux pluviales et usées. Cette étude vise à analyser le réseau de drainage urbain structuré autour des bassins hydrographiques afin d’identifier les causes techniques, institutionnelles et sociales de son dysfonctionnement. La recherche repose sur une approche systémique combinant observation de terrain, analyse documentaire et évaluation environnementale. Les résultats montrent que plus de 60 % des caniveaux sont inexistants ou obstrués, et plus de 70 % des égouts sont hors service, favorisant ainsi les inondations récurrentes, l’érosion et la dégradation des routes. Ces défaillances sont principalement dues au manque d’entretien, à la mauvaise gouvernance urbaine et à l’incivisme de certains habitants. L’étude conclut que la réhabilitation durable du réseau de drainage requiert une gouvernance intégrée du territoire, l’implication communautaire et une planification urbaine fondée sur les réalités hydrographiques locales.
