Today, the status of auto-entrepreneur can no longer be perceived as a mere passing trend chosen by individuals seeking alternatives to unemployment. It now constitutes a concrete response to a deeply rooted economic reality. Statistical data are striiking : the majority of business start-ups registered each year fall under the sole proprietorship regime. It is with this in mind that the Moroccan legislature enacted Law No. 114-13 on the status of self-employed entrepreneur, designed as a tool for social integration, a key vector in the fight against the informal economy, and a true catalyst for individual initiative. More than nine years after its entry into force, a finding is necessary. Key words: Auto-entrepreneur, informal sector, independent work, difficulties, unemployment, patrimonial risk.
