NICER PSR J0437-4715 MCMC Samples and Data

Abstract

This repository stores data from the paper "The Radius of PSR J0437-4751 from NICER Data." These files include MCMC-derived posteriors, the NICER data set analyzed in that paper, and the NICER response matrix used in that analysis. "J0437_NICER_RM.txt" --- The radius and mass weighted posterior samples from our favored model. "J0437_NICER_full.txt" --- The full set of weighted posterior samples from our favored model. "NICER_J0437_3C50_rsp.txt" --- The NICER count data on PSR J0437-4715. First column: rotational phase in units of cycles. Second column: NICER PI channel (the data that were used start at channel 30). Third column: NICER counts in that phase-channel bin. "dataJ0437NICER3c50ph32.dat" --- The NICER response for the PSR J0437-4715 data. Each row starts with the following: Minimum photon energy in keV; maximum photon energy in keV; starting NICER PI channel (always 0 for this response). The next 301 columns are the effective area for a photon in the given energy range to be read as a count in the NICER PI channels starting at the starting channel, i.e., NICER PI channels 0,1,2,...,299,300.
