Abstract

Das Yellow Paper thematisiert verschiedene Ebenen und Herangehensweisen zur Berücksichtigung ethisch sensibler Informationen in der Erfassung von Metadaten historischer Quellen. Neben der Fokussierung auf Metadaten umreißt der Text zudem andere Möglichkeiten zur Kennzeichnung ethisch sensibler Kontexte wie beispielsweise Disclaimer und Versionierung, die Abbildung von Provenienz oder das Einholen von Feedback zu bereits erfassten Metadaten. Die Autor*innen des Yellow Papers argumentieren auf Basis der FAIR- und CARE-Prinzipien dafür, sich bei der Arbeit mit ethisch sensiblen Inhalten und deren Abbildung in Form von Metadaten dem Prinzip „über den Tellerrand schauen – weiterdenken – richtige Herangehensweise finden“ zu widmen. Der Text verarbeitet Beiträge von Johannes Wolff, Lisa Quade, Noёlle Schnegg, Levyn Bürki, Grischka Petri, Oliver Vettermann und die Diskussionen, die im Rahmen des NFDI4Memory-Workshops „Große Anforderungen an kleine Textfelder: Ethische Fragen an Metadaten historischer Quellen“ am Herder-Institut für historische Ostmitteleuropaforschung ‒ Institut der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft in Marburg am 21. und 22. November 2024 stattfanden. Im folgenden Text wird bezugnehmend auf diese Vorträge und Diskussionen verkürzt von „Workshop“ gesprochen.
