La gestión de colecciones privadas de arte contemporáneo en Guadalajara: tensiones entre la sostenibilidad y la accesibilidad

Abstract

El coleccionismo de arte contemporáneo en Guadalajara ha crecido notablemente desde los años 70, impulsado por galerías privadas que respondieron a la producción local y evolucionaron hacia el contemporáneo en los 90, gracias a eventos como Expoarte y el FITAC. Estos fomentaron un mercado regional conectado con ámbitos nacionales e internacionales, donde las colecciones privadas configuran el panorama artístico emergente. Sin embargo, estas colecciones enfrentan desafíos en gestión, conservación, exhibición y difusión, ya que muchas surgieron bajo modelos rudimentarios o mercantilistas, sin estándares museísticos adecuados, lo que genera vulnerabilidades materiales y simbólicas. Surgen interrogantes sobre criterios de selección, procesos de manejo y su impacto cultural-social, especialmente ante préstamos o investigaciones externas sin protocolos precisos. Proyectos parciales de conservación han abordado necesidades inmediatas, revelando la falta de metodologías para ordenar acervos y garantizar preservación durante exhibiciones o préstamos, equilibrando riesgos con apertura a circuitos culturales.
