AOFT Field Structures of the TCV L–H Transition

AOFT Field Structures of the TCV L–H Transition

Abstract

We present a compact, data-driven visualisation of organisational dynamics during the TCV L–H transition using the Alpha–Omega Field Theory (AOFT). The effective organisational frequency f(t) = \frac{1}{2\pi}\sqrt{P_{\mathrm{heat}}(t)/W_{\mathrm{MHD}}(t)} is computed directly from experimental heating-power and stored-energy time series of a representative TCV L–H discharge (fig1 in LH_DATA.h5). From three characteristic time points – an Omega-dominated early phase, the onset of the transition, and a high-tension post-reorganisation regime – AOFT field structures are generated via r(\theta,t) = R_0(t)/(1+k\sin^2\theta), \; R_0(t) = 1 + \alpha f(t) with k = 0.85 and \alpha = 0.8. The resulting figure provides a minimal but complete empirical demonstration of how AOFT links the ratio of drive to stored structure (P/W) to emergent field geometry across confinement transitions.
