Personality as a Σ-Configuration: Self, Ego, Shadow, Archetypes in Δ–Σ Semantics

Abstract

This monograph offers a formal reinterpretation of the Jungian model of personality through the framework of Δ–Σ semantics. Personality is understood not as a set of traits, but as a dynamic configuration of distinction (Δ) and connection (Σ) operators, organized around stable semantic attractors—archetypes. The Ego is defined as the self-distinction operator Δₑ, the Self as the central Σ-attractor of wholeness, the Shadow as a cluster of non-integrated Δ, and the Animus/Anima as complementary Σ-structures. The dynamics of personality development, compensatory mechanisms, and structural pathologies are examined as imbalances in Δ–Σ topology. The work is a development of semantic topology and Δ-Σ ontology.
