This paper presents data on the recovery of the Concerto in E minor for piano and orchestra by Pedro de Castro (1895-1978), a work still in manuscript four decades after the composer's death. Aiming to contribute to musicological studies on 20th-century Brazilian concert music, this text, written by members of the research group "Works for piano by 20th-century composers from Minas Gerais" at the UFMG School of Music, Minas Gerais, Brazil, seeks to promote the concerto and celebrate the centenary of the Minas Gerais Conservatory of Music, now the UFMG School of Music. Pedro de Castro, a pianist and professor of the institution's first generation, recently had his work revived in academic research led by Dr. Mauro Chantal. The Concerto in E minor demonstrates his compositional mastery and is currently the subject of postdoctoral research by one of the authors of this text.

Pedro de Castro, pianista e professor da primeira geração da instituição, teve sua produção recentemente retomada em pesquisas acadêmicas conduzidas pelo Dr. Mauro Chantal.
