Evaluación crítica de la metodología EBA frente al marco normativo de la Resolución 136 de 2020 en porcicultura

Abstract

La evaluación del bienestar animal en porcicultura constituye un desafío técnico y regulatorio en Colombia. Este estudio analiza la correspondencia entre la Resolución 136 de 2020, que establece los requisitos mínimos de bienestar animal, y la Metodología para Evaluar Bienestar Animal en la Especie Porcina (EBA V3.0), desarrollada por el ICA y PorkColombia. A través de un enfoque comparativo, se identificaron fortalezas en la traducción de mandatos normativos en indicadores cuantificables, especialmente mediante medidas basadas en la gestión y el animal. Asimismo, se evidenciaron brechas relevantes, como la falta de indicadores explícitos sobre selección genética, protocolos de bioseguridad y planes frente a depredación. Los hallazgos destacan la necesidad de ajustar y ampliar la cobertura de la metodología, garantizando alineación normativa y fortaleciendo la objetividad de las auditorías. Se concluye que la EBA representa un avance significativo, aunque requiere mejoras para optimizar su efectividad en la porcicultura colombiana.
