ENHANCING ANATOMICAL PATHOLOGY LEARNING THROUGH THE GAMAPATH-OMERO DIGITAL PATHOLOGY PLATFORM: A COLLABORATIVE SUPPORT BETWEEN UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA AND UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE FOR THE UNDERGRADUATE MEDICINE PROGRAM OF PAPUA UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Access to high-quality pathology education in remote areas of Indonesia remains limited due to a lack of teaching resources and the unavailability of specialized pathologists. The Papua University (UNIPA), situated in the easternmost part of Indonesia, far from the central government and academic hubs, faces significant challenges in providing adequate histopathological education. Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), as part of its community service efforts, developed a digital pathology program to address these issues using whole slide imaging and a collaborative platform called GamaPath-OMERO, established in partnership with University of Dundee.
