
The xFORMAL project, focused on Informal and Non-Formal E-Learning for Cultural Heritage,stands as a leading example in cultural heritage education. Its innovative approach combinesphysical exploration of museums and cultural sites with enriched virtual experiences through amobile app. Supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, this project showcases howdigital technology can enhance cultural heritage education, fostering interest and learningamong citizens of all ages while inspiring innovation and progress. xFORMAL is built on two fundamental principles: Metadisciplinarity, which encouragescollaboration among science, technology, and the humanities through constructive dialogue,and pedagogical innovation, which utilizes interactive games to transform cultural visits intoengaging learning experiences. The project places a strong emphasis on valorizing lesser-known cultural heritage that is often overlooked in formal education, using modern andaccessible tools to promote its knowledge. To further advance heritage education, xFORMAL has implemented strategies aimed atincreasing public interaction and fostering partnerships with cultural organizations andeducational institutions.
