Abstract

This chapter presents a pedagogical agenda for the development of critical thinking skills in relation to digital technology. It begins by articulating a critique of the approach taken by the 11th dimension of the Digital Competency Framework (MEES, 2019). It then presents the pillars of a critical perspective towards digital technology and defines an approach based on pedagogical principles and key concepts that build on these pillars. The result is a proposal that clarifies the 11th dimension of the Framework, fills in the gaps, and promotes its operationalization in a learning context.
