This report focuses on one of Greenland's most important bird sites, Kitsissunnguit. Kitsissunnguit has been recognised as a site worthy of protection since the mid-20th century, but bird populations on the island have been declining. If this trend continues, Kitsissunnguit will lose its special status and management action is needed to halt the decline. The chapters of the report describe the physical character of the archipelago, its prehistory, how it is used by people today, its rich bird life and the presence of Arctic foxes. Finally, the report presents concrete proposals for the future management of Kitsissunnguit.
