Rafael's Hypothesis: Origin of Comet 3I/ATLAS from the Thick Disk of the Milky Way • Гипотеза Рафаэля: Происхождение кометы 3I/ATLAS из толстого диска Млечного Пути

Abstract

This paper presents Rafael’s hypothesis on the origin of comet 3I/ATLAS from the thick disk of the Milky Way. The study argues that the thick disk, composed of ancient stars and primordial matter aged 7–8 billion years, may serve as a reservoir of interstellar comets. The hypothesis predicts that the nucleus of 3I/ATLAS should contain elevated volatile compounds, distinct isotopic ratios, and preserved organics, reflecting early galactic chemistry. The author’s catalog of cometary nucleus compositions provides a framework for testing this scenario. If confirmed, the hypothesis establishes a direct link between interstellar comets and the evolutionary history of the Galaxy.
