IP4OS Milestone 6 - Finalise & accept the training programme

Abstract

This milestone describes the IP4OS training programme which will be implemented in 2026. The aim of the training programme is to enhance the skills, knowledge, awareness of and advocacy of European Researchers and institutions for an innovative approach to research knowledge valorisation. IP4OS promotes a concerted approach to Intellectual Property (IP) management and Open Science (OS) practices and establishes multi-professional teams (covering professions in the field of Open Science, Knowledge Transfer, Research Management, Data Stewardship, Librarianship, Law) in European institutions. These teams will be trained by IP4OS and equipped with supporting materials to provide consultations on knowledge valorisation for their institution's researchers. The training programme (implemented between January and June 2026) consists of three interactive and dialogue-driven sessions where participants from diverse backgrounds, professions, and experience levels can engage with and explore the practice of knowledge valorisation - possibly under an IP-OS concept. The sessions are accompanied by short profession-specific deepening modules (provided as pre-recorded videos with short exercises) to inspire and guide the wider community and combine team-level experimentation with tailored self-paced learning, fostering cross-sectoral collaboration, shared understanding, and institutional change toward reliable and strategic knowledge valorisation practices. Additionally IP4OS will offer a micro-level library for knowledge valorisation (catalogue), the Synergy Framework comprising current IP-OS practices and recommendation and a Valorisation Consultancy form. The teams are first European pilots and benefit from: Building Expertise: Establish and strengthen a multi-professional team within your institution to support an optimal management of research outputs. Boost Visibility: Gain recognition as pioneer institution in Europe's capacity-building endeavour by being featured at the IP4OS Summit in Brussels 2026. Enhance Strategies: Leverage cutting-edge knowledge from the IP4OS project to ensure your institution stays ahead in enabling transdisciplinary and cross-sector knowledge circulation.
