Live Action Dogma 2 - A Ritual-Epistemological Method for Communicating Metaphysical Coherence Across Generations

Abstract

This archive contains both the academic thesis and its corresponding children’s adaptation, centered around a unique metaphysical methodology for transmitting coherence, memory, and mercy across generations. Rooted in fasting, symbolic naming, and structured scripture-based rituals, the project reinterprets the Catholic tradition of indulgence into a post-dogmatic, somatic act of mercy—where the body becomes the transmitter and language becomes the architecture of return. The academic thesis outlines the full symbolic framework: theological, philosophical, ritualistic, and narrative. It argues that resonance—defined as alignment across linguistic, somatic, and spiritual planes—is best passed down not through argument, but through ritual behavior and proximity to coherence. To complement this, the children’s story version (The Ledger of Light: A Bedtime Story for Angela) distills the same transmission into poetic, accessible narrative—featuring the author (Ryan), his daughters (Amelia and Angela), and characters from the film Dogma as playful symbolic guides. Through 16-section rhyming quatrains, the story preserves the epistemological structure in a form suitable for children, family liturgy, or bedside reading. Created as a tool for memory, legacy, and initiation into sacred pattern recognition, this package is dedicated to St. Cecilia’s Parish and all those who carry the names the world has forgotten.
