Abstract

Abstract ̶ Annotated 2025 checklist of the continental molluscs of the Grand Est (France)The continental malacofauna of the Grand Est region is currently documented by approximately 51,500 occurrence records, enabling the creation of a regional reference list of 248 species of bivalves and gastropods. This updated synthesis is based on the work of Bichain et al. (2023) and incorporates almost 12,500 new records collected between January 2023 and October 2025. Scientific names have been updated to reflect nomenclatural changes and major systematic revisions. The regional list has been updated to include nine new species: Bythinella cylindracea (Paladilhe, 1869); Deroceras juranum (Wüthrich, 1993); Hygromia limbata (Draparnaud, 1805); Macularia sylvatica (Draparnaud, 1801); Omphiscola glabra (O. F. Müller, 1774); Segmentina montgazoniana (Bourguignat, 1882); Spiralix kuiperi (Boeters & Falkner, 2009); Xerotricha conspurcata (Draparnaud, 1801) and Zonitoides arboreus (Say, 1816). Conversely, five taxa have been removed or are now considered synonyms following recent revisions, particularly within the genus Vallonia. Five species have also had their regional status reassessed as doubtful or erroneously reported. The comments focus particularly on species newly recorded for the region, species listed as threatened in the French and regional Red Lists, and alien taxa. This update provides a reference framework for monitoring malacological biodiversity in Grand Est and supports regional conservation actions. Keywords ̶ Alien species, biodiversity, naturalist inventories, taxonomy, threatened species.
