Health Financing and Population Health Outcomes Dataset: OECD Countries and Türkiye (2000-2021)

Abstract

This dataset contains time-weighted health financing indicators and population health outcomes for 38 OECD countries and Türkiye spanning 2000-2021. The data support the study "Evaluating Health Financing Typologies Through Healthy Life Expectancy and Infant Mortality: Evidence from OECD Countries and Türkiye." DATA CONTENTS:1. Time-weighted health expenditure indicators (λ=1.5): - Out-of-pocket expenditure (per capita USD and % GDP) - Voluntary/private insurance expenditure (per capita USD and % GDP) - Compulsory public expenditure (per capita USD and % GDP) 2. Health outcome indicators: - Healthy Life Expectancy at birth (HALE) - overall, male, female - Infant mortality rates (per 1,000 live births) - overall, male, female 3. Derived analytical variables: - Principal component scores (3 components) - Multidimensional scaling coordinates (3 dimensions) - Cluster assignments (financing typologies) - TOPSIS performance scores - Gender gap indicators 4. Supplementary materials: - Reproducibility outputs - R analysis code - Cluster validation metrics DATA SOURCES:- OECD Health Statistics (https://www.oecd.org/health/health-data.htm)- WHO Global Health Observatory (https://www.who.int/data/gho) TIME PERIOD: 2000-2021 (22 years)COUNTRIES: 39 (38 OECD members + Türkiye) CITATION:If you use this dataset, please cite.
