Abstract

Este informe ofrece un análisis técnico y documental sobre la estructura real de Internet, diferenciando con precisión aquello que está comprobado de los mitos digitales que circulan en la cultura popular. El texto explica que Internet está compuesta por dos grandes capas verificables: la Surface Web, accesible mediante buscadores convencionales, y la Deep Web, que constituye cerca del 96 % de la información total y contiene bases de datos privadas, intranets corporativas, sistemas académicos, información gubernamental protegida y recursos bajo autenticación. Dentro de esta última se ubica la Dark Web, un espacio anónimo basado en tecnologías como Tor, donde confluyen usos legítimos, actividades de protección a la privacidad y también delitos informáticos. El documento desmonta de forma sistemática la existencia de capas míticas como Bergie Web, Charter Web, Marianas Web, Zion y La Liberté, demostrando que no tienen soporte técnico ni histórico. A través de revisión forense y análisis de origen, el informe muestra que estas categorías surgieron en foros, memes y relatos conspirativos, sin evidencia empírica. Además, presenta una comparativa estructurada de protocolos, accesos, riesgos y niveles de evidencia, así como una cronología desde el concepto de Invisible Web en 1994 hasta la viralización del mito de Marianas Web en 2011. Finalmente, el estudio aborda los riesgos legales y de ciberseguridad asociados a la Dark Web y a la desinformación sobre estas capas, subrayando la importancia de comprender qué partes de la red son reales, cuáles son imaginarias y cuáles implican riesgos operativos en contextos profesionales, académicos y de investigación digital.
