This paper proposes a unified conceptual model of the universe as a coherence-driven interaction among information, energy, and storage. In this framework, information defines structure — rules and relations — while energy funds the operations that sustain and manifest those structures in time; roles remain strictly distinct (no information→energy conversion). Reality emerges as a continuous synchronization between the rate of informational updating and the available manifested energy, within the finite storage capacity of space. Local time is the cadence of coherent read–write–update (RWU) cycles. The model introduces the principle of irreducible complexity: a minimum set of interdependent functions — storage, processing, energy supply, and evolution law — is required for any record to persist. Space and time are described as discrete informational media: space is an addressable memory of cells that hold records; time is the RWU cadence over the addresses a region touches. Curvature is interpreted not as passive geometry, but as a mechanism for extending storage capacity; its energetic upkeep appears as maintenance tension, dynamically adjusted to preserve coherence when informational density rises. At the limits of this process, black holes act as extreme compression systems — expressions of maximal information density and minimal temporal flow — where Hawking radiation functions as a slow, coherence-preserving release of curvature tension (lossy compression). White-hole–like phases represent the rapid, outward capacity-release complement under the same bookkeeping. The model further presents fractal space–time as a self-referential structure: each scale contains a coherent but lower-resolution version of the whole, giving rise to the arrow of time through (i) energetic expenditure per update, (ii) capacity-driven coarse-graining near limits, and (iii) progressive compression of older records to make room for new, compatible variation; uncorrelated noise is compressed rather than discarded when budgets allow. At cosmological scale, expansion is interpreted as address activation — chosen when it is cheaper than further curving the existing surface — with cosmological redshift as reindexing on a growing grid; bound systems lock their local lattices and do not expand internally. Finally, the framework extends to complexity, life, and consciousness as higher-order emergent forms of informational self-synchronization, enabled by fractal organization that lowers per-bit cost and supports persistent self-reference beyond a threshold. The universe appears not as a collection of separate phenomena, but as a single system of information–energy–storage coherence optimization — a dynamic balance seeking to maximize meaningful, persistent information at minimal energetic cost.
