Confianza, ética y narrativa: liderazgo legítimo en las empresas tequileras de la Ruta del Agave, Jalisco

Abstract

Este artículo analiza cómo se construye y sostiene la legitimidad del liderazgo en las microempresas rurales del sector tequilero, ubicadas a lo largo de la Ruta del Agave, Jalisco, México. Empleando un enfoque cualitativo interpretativo, el estudio examina diez entrevistas semiestructuradas con empresarios del tequila para explorar los fundamentos éticos, relacionales y simbólicos del liderazgo legítimo. Con base en la teoría clásica de la autoridad cooperativa de Chester Barnard y enriquecida por los marcos contemporáneos sobre el liderazgo moral y la narración organizacional, los hallazgos revelan un modelo contextual sostenido por tres dimensiones interdependientes: coherencia ética (alineación entre el discurso y la acción), cooperación basada en la confianza (proximidad relacional y responsabilidad compartida) y la narración como práctica simbólica de identidad, legado y reconocimiento moral. Si bien los líderes estudiados exhiben una firme convicción ética y un profundo arraigo cultural, también enfrentan desafíos para formalizar sus narrativas y profesionalizar su liderazgo. El artículo propone un modelo situado de liderazgo legítimo, adaptado a entornos culturalmente arraigados y estructuralmente informales, que contribuye a la redefinición del liderazgo en las microempresas rurales latinoamericanas. Se discuten las implicaciones para el desarrollo del liderazgo, el posicionamiento narrativo y el diseño de políticas públicas alineadas con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS 8, 11 y 12).
