Efectividad de Canva como herramienta para fomentar el trabajo colaborativo en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés en educación superior

Abstract

Este estudio descriptivo transversal examinó la efectividad de Canva como herramienta digital para fomentar el aprendizaje colaborativo entre 85 estudiantes de inglés de nivel 3 de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo, Ecuador. Los participantes fueron organizados en 17 grupos colaborativos y participaron en actividades estructuradas de escritura y expresión oral utilizando Canva durante un semestre académico. Los datos se recolectaron mediante un cuestionario validado que midió las percepciones estudiantiles a través de ocho dimensiones de efectividad de la plataforma y cuatro tipos de engagement (cognitivo, emocional, conductual y social). Los resultados demostraron percepciones consistentemente positivas hacia Canva, con medias que oscilaron entre 3.89 y 4.31 en una escala de 5 puntos. El desarrollo de competencias digitales recibió la valoración más alta (M = 4.31, DE = 0.74), seguido por la facilidad de uso (M = 4.23, DE = 0.78). Los niveles de engagement estudiantil fueron altos en todas las dimensiones, con el engagement conductual mostrando las puntuaciones más altas (M = 4.28, DE = 0.65). Los hallazgos confirman la efectividad de Canva para facilitar el aprendizaje colaborativo mientras desarrolla competencias digitales transferibles en contextos universitarios de educación en idiomas.
