This workshop introduces participants to the use of DataverseNL, the national research data repository jointly managed by DANS and 21 Dutch partner institutions, including Maastricht University. It provides practical guidance for researchers, data stewards, and curators on how to publish, manage, and preserve datasets in alignment with the FAIR principles and institutional policies for research data management. The presentation covers the organization of DataverseNL, the roles and responsibilities within the UM Dataverse governance structure, and the data publication workflow from dataset creation and curation to updating records. The presentation includes different publication types and upload methods (standard, embargoed, metadata-only, and automated), as well as the management of sensitive and restricted data. The workshop also introduces the internal support ecosystem at Maastricht University, including documentation on Confluence, and local manuals. The material is designed for researchers, data stewards, and research support professionals who manage or deposit data in DataverseNL.
