The SPADE presentation on standards and roadmap discusses the critical role of standards in enabling interoperable, secure, and trustworthy ecosystems for drone technology, digital twins, and data spaces in agriculture and forestry. It presents an "hourglass model" showing layers from drone technology to digital twin infrastructures and data spaces, emphasizing relevant ISO, IEC, and European standards that cover drone safety, cybersecurity, interoperability, data management, privacy, and AI trustworthiness. The presentation outlines ongoing efforts on digital twin reference architectures (ISOIEC 30188), behavioral and policy interoperability (ISOIEC 21823-5), and data space frameworks (ISOIEC 20151) to ensure cross-domain integration and governance of decentralized ecosystems. It also highlights the impact of EU regulations (GDPR, AI Act, Cybersecurity Act) on the standards landscape and the need for standardization to support SPADE’s smart drone deployments and intelligent agri-forestry digital services under horizontal standardization principles.
