
This review synthesizes recent advancements in ion thruster plasma control, focusing on rotating magnetic field (RMF) systems and segmented electrode designs from 2019–2025. Practical calculations and performance comparisons are included to highlight improvements in thrust-to-power efficiency and lifetime projections.
