
Instrument persistent identifiers (PIDs) provide the greatest value when they are not only registered but also linked to other relevant research entities. Establishing these connections strengthens discovery, reproducibility and provenance, and makes it possible to trace instrument use across documented research outputs. This document offers recommendations on how to connect instrument PIDs with PIDs identifying related research entities.
