This report synthesizes core findings from the multi-year Urbaltour research project to provide a comprehensive analysis of the Kohima’s emergent tourism sector. Our objective was to map the visiting demographic, analyze their spatial visiting patterns, and assess the socioeconomic and governance dynamics shaping the tourism’s growth. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, integrating extensive visitor surveys with spatial data mapping (GIS) of infrastructure and key attractions. This quantitative analysis was complemented by qualitative data derived from semi-structured interviews with government officials, private sector operators, and village council leaders.
