The German Visa Appointment Dataset covers information from >16,000 digital requests for visa appointments at German embassies and consulates located in 109 countries worldwide. The core variable is the wait time (in days), calculated as the difference between the date of the request and the date of the closest available appointment date. The data was collected via computational methods as described in the 2025 Political Geography article "A Time Penalty for the Global South? Visa Appointment Wait Times at German Embassies and Consulates Worldwide" by Deutschmann et al. (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.polgeo.2025.103440).
