Blue Growth and Food Security Sustainability

Abstract

This article examines and analyzes the processes for implementing sustainable methods and technologies in production through the implementation of a “blue economy”. Blue growth is a strategy that aims to unlock the potential of the seas and oceans as engines for economic growth, innovation, and job creation, while ensuring the sustainability of the marine environment and food security. The introduction of environmental standards and sustainability criteria in various industries is examined in detail. A review of the legislation regarding the “blue economy” and environmental standards is made. Emphasis is placed on maritime planning within the framework of the regulatory framework created to regulate economic activity in the World Ocean, as well as control, monitoring, and other measures.
