This replication file contains the code (in R and Stata) that is part of the article "Revisiting the dimensionality of trust in political institutions and actors: Evidence of a bidimensional structure". The Stata do-file contains the code for harmonising all the Standard Eurobarometers between 2004 and 2023, starting with EB61. The R scripts produce the figures and tables included in the main text of the article, including the dimensional representation of the polychoric factor analysis, the factor loadings for each item of political trust at the two different levels (EU and national), the polychoric factor loadings by country, and as an aggregate. The table and figures in the appendix are also part of the code, and they include the analysis of missing and the scree plot. This article is an expansion of Chapter 4 on the dimensionality of political trust between EU and national institutions and actors of ActEU's Deliverable 2.1 on the general dynamics of trust based on secondary data analysis.
