This saproxylic species, living under bark in humid woods, had never been recorded before perhaps as it does not fall into pitfall traps. It is common and widespread across all adjacent regions (Géhin 1846; Fournel & Géhin 1847; Godron 1863; Everts 1903; Libbrecht 1988; Köhler & Klausnitzer 1998; Lillig 1999; Troukens 2005; Soldati 2007; Thomaes et al. 2025). In Saarland, where it was firstly collected in the 1920s (Eisinger 2001), it is abundant and not considered endangered (Lillig 1999).
