Annotation sets for six ant species, Doleromyrma darwiniana, Iridomyrmex anceps, Linepithema humile, Liometopum microcephalum, Ochetellus glaber, and Tapinoma melanocephalum. Annotations were generated using Braker v.3.0.8.The assembly used for D. darwiniana is generated in this study, whereas the remaining assemblies were downloaded from GenBank. GenBank accessions for the assemblies used in the remaining annotation sets are: I. anceps - GCA_048542785.1, L. humile - GCA_040581485.1, L. microcephalum - GCA_048542565.1, O. glaber - GCA_048543655.1, and T. melanocephalum - GCA_048542345.1. The annotations are provided in the GTF files attached, in addition to the OrthoFinder (version 3.0.1b) results describing individual orthogroup sequences in FASTA format (compressed in Dolichoderinae_orthogroups.tar.gz) and overall copy number counts of all species for all orthogroups (Orthogroups.GeneCount.tsv). The assembly for D. darwiniana is submitted to GenBank, however, its processing is delayed potentially until the end of the governmental shutdown in the United States of America. For this reason, the D. darwiniana genome assembly used in this dataset is provided here in the interim (Doleromyrma_darwiniana.fa).

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 1 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
