Relación entre los hábitos de lectura y niveles de comprensión lectora en estudiantes de bachillerato de un colegio de Machala

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar la relación entre los hábitos de lectura y la comprensión lectora en estudiantes de bachillerato de un colegio de Machala. El diseño metodológico se caracterizó por ser una investigación correlacional y de corte transversal, se utilizó un cuestionario con 28 preguntas formuladas y un apartado para datos demográficos, el nivel de consistencia interna alcanzó un Alfa de Cronbach de 0,871, la muestra del estudio corresponde a 120 estudiantes seleccionados a través de muestreo por conglomerados. Los hallazgos de investigación indican niveles inferiores en los hábitos de lectura: el resultado global fue de 51,7% en nivel bajo y 5,8% en el nivel alto, la frecuencia lectora obtuvo un 63,3% en el nivel bajo. El nivel de comprensión lectora global indica un 43,4% para el nivel bajo y 20,8% para el nivel alto, en cuanto a las dimensiones definidas se observó patrones similares con variaciones internas. La relación entre hábitos y comprensión resultó positiva y distinta de cero, con ρ = 0,316 y p < 0,001. Con base en los resultados, se concluyó que la muestra analizada presentó hábitos de lectura con predominio de niveles bajos y una comprensión lectora ubicada en rangos bajo y regular, quedó verificada una asociación positiva entre ambas variables para el contexto estudiado.
