
Abstract: A major important and closely related aspect of tourism is transport, which has asignificant impact on both accessibility and economic development. This study appraised thecritical role of transportation in the tourism industry, identifying transport infrastructure as a keydeterminant of tourism. Key concepts explored in this study include accessibility of tourism andtransport, connectivity, technology, and sustainability. Key findings in this synthesis revealedthat transportation is crucial to the development of tourism as it promotes access to locations aswell as the growth of tourist arrivals and economic benefits. The study also found out that,cutting-edge information technologies in transportation, such as intelligent ticketing anddynamic routing, helped to rationalize and personalize transportation. This research synthesisalso emphasized the fact that transport system, particularly the carbon portion, presentssustainability challenges for tourism to operate. This study concludes that transportation plays animportant part in the development of tourism industry, while also advocating for greentransportation to assist the expansion of sustainable tourism.
