Through a focus on its impact on individuals, society, and the economy, this study looks into how the billions of dollars currently spent on space tourism could be used to fight climate change and environmental degradation. This paper makes the case that, despite the fact that private space operations by businesses such as SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Virgin Galactic are a symbol of human progress, their exorbitant expenses could be used to finance reforestation, renewable energy projects, public health initiatives, and disaster resilience, which could save millions of lives and create millions of sustainable jobs.
