VALIDAÇÃO DOS RESULTADOS NUMÉRICOS DE UMA PLACA DE ACRÍLICO FLETIDA ATRAVÉS DA METODOLOGIA TEÓRICA E EMPÍRICA

Abstract

Nos problemas de engenharia estrutural, enfrentados rotineiramente, não é usual o emprego de métodos empíricos, sendo necessário o conhecimento da teoria para compreender determinado fenômeno e, quando esta não é passível de ser aplicada ou até mesmo inexistente, a modelagem numérica, através do método dos elementos finitos (MEF), surge como uma solução. Através de uma abordagem clara e concisa, este artigo explora a aplicação desses três enfoques, destacando as suas vantagens e limitações ao se analisar uma placa de acrílico presa em uma de suas extremidades e livre na outra, a qual foi submetida a sucessivos carregamentos de cargas com diferentes intensidades. Os resultados alcançados demonstram que se pode obter vantagens do uso de técnicas computacionais quando há domínio do problema envolvido.
