Valorization of marine side-streams through innovative green extraction techniques for the recovery of fish oil and protein hydrolysates

Abstract

The present work aimed at the valorization of fish by-products through the extraction of oil from salmon heads using supercritical fluids and subcritical water, and the production of bioactive peptides through bacterial fermentation processes from protein-rich by-products such as hake and shrimp. In this poster, results from fish oil extraction using green extraction techniques and fermentation hydrolysis within the VALORISH project are presented.
